Announcements
PTA Dues Increase Vote and Elections Announcement
At the March meeting we will discuss dues increase for next school year. National PTAs dues have increased. We are proposing to change dues: $15 for staff, $25 for a single membership, and $35 for a family membership. Discussion and feedback is welcome.
Additionally, elections for the PTA Board will be held in May. Nominations will be announced starting at the March PTA meeting. Information about the positions can be found here.

School Assembly Drawing with Steve Harpster
On March 28th students will enjoy a school assembly, Drawing with Steve Harpster, sponsored by the PTA.

Drama Club presents: "Light the Way"
The Drama Club will be hosting two performances of "Light the Way" on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at 6:30pm.
We have limited tickets (families get them first) but we wanted everyone to know about this exciting event!
Tickets are FREE and can be reserved here.
Variety Show: May 30, 6pm

Rehearsals will be held Wednesdays in April and May from 3:30 - 4:45 pm.

Several of our clubs offer different sessions throughout the year. Signs up are available here:
Art Club spring classes will begin in March and are open for registration.
Computer and Coding Club has sessions on Mondays (Roblox Game Design) and Tuesdays (Intro to CS & Coding) from 3:35-4:35.
Girls on the Run is back! GOTR will hold sessions on Mondays and Fridays from 3:30-5 beginning in March for girls in grades 3-6.
RunFit Kidz registration is now open. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning in March for students in grades 1-6.

Boosterthon kicks off this week!
Orange Hunt and the PTA will be hosting a Fun Run this spring to raise money for our school. Students will run laps on the field and ask for donations from friends and family for each lap they complete. The fundraiser kicks off on Thursday, March 6. Learn more
Classroom Supply Reimbursement
Don't forget to turn in receipts for reimbursement for general classroom needs! Requests can be sent to treasurer@orangehuntpta.org.

Spelling Bee Results
Congratulations to Sophia Abraham, the winner of Orange Hunt's 3rd annual spelling bee! Her champion word was “hurricane.” Sophia will now continue on to represent OHES at the Fairfax County spelling bee!
Lilia Knap and Giovanna Steele took 2nd place and 3rd place respectively.
Congratulations to all our participants for their hard work preparing for the bee. We hope to see many of you back for next year's bee!
Thank you so much to all the volunteers and sponsors who made this event successful.

Spelling Bee (tonight!) - 6pm
The rescheduled Orange Hunt Spelling Bee will be held tonight at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. Spellers should arrive by 5:45 p.m.

Boosterthon - Sign-up is Open!
Orange Hunt and the PTA will be hosting a Fun Run this spring to raise money for our school. Students will run laps on the field and ask for donations from friends and family for each lap they complete.
The website is now open to register your student and start thinking about asking friends and family to donate on your student’s donation page at MyBooster.com. The best part is, you can still support our school just by SHARING about the fundraiser!
Students will also experience an amazing character enrichment program called “Castle Quest,” teaching students about how to be brave and live with character.

Science Fair - Registration is Open!
The Science Fair will be held on April 3rd. There will be two sessions:
6-7pm: preference for 1st-3rd graders
7:15-8:15pm: preference for 4th-6th graders
Sessions will be limited to 50 students each.

Staff Appreciation Week: Donate Now
OHES celebrates staff appreciation week April 7-11 (right before spring break).
Your donations determine what types of events and goodies we can provide to the staff. In the past we have had lunches, ice cream trucks, t-shirts, and more!
Knowing how much money we have to spend helps us plan, so please consider donating now. Any amount is welcome!
To date, 28 families have donated.

6th Grade Party
6th grade parents and guardians will host a celebration for the 6th grade students at the end of the school year.
While this is not a PTA event, the PTA is helping to coordinate volunteers. If you can help out please sign up on the volunteer sheet.
Volunteer Opportunities
The PTA is gearing up for spring events. We are especially looking for help with:
- Spring Fest
- Variety Show
- Nominating Committee
We have a lead for the SpringFest, but need a committee to support Robin getting things ready.
Anna Boomer has also graciously offered to head up the Variety Show! The committee is forming now, please sign up to help.
Are you looking for the easiest volunteer job around with very little time commitment? Volunteer for the PTA Nominating Committee! Collect nominations via email for upcoming elections.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our successful BINGO Night! It was a great first time back in over four years!
A special shout out to our sponsor, Fox Family Dentistry, and to Eat Pizza, for the contributions to helping make BINGO Night a success.
Lastly, thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen. The OHES PTA would not be able to function without the help of our volunteers. THANK YOU!
